Static codes that just keep working
A QR code can be static or dynamic. A static code holds the destination inside the pattern itself — nothing sits between the scanner and your link, so it works forever and reveals nothing about who scanned it. A dynamic code points at a short link on someone else's server; it can be edited later, but it also expires when a subscription lapses and it logs every scan. Many free generators hand you a dynamic code without saying so.

- Do these QR codes ever expire?
- No. Every code here is a static QR code — the link or text is encoded directly into the pattern, so there is no short-link or redirect in the middle that can expire or be shut off. Print it once and it works forever. Many "free" generators secretly create dynamic codes that route through their server and stop working when a trial ends; this tool never does that.
- Is the QR code generator free?
- Yes. Generating codes for links, Wi-Fi, email, phone, SMS and plain text and downloading them as PNG is completely free, with no sign-up and no watermark. Pro ($5/month or $25 once) adds SVG vector export, custom colors with a center logo, and bulk generation from a CSV.
- Do you track who scans my QR code?
- No. Because the code is static, scans go straight from the phone to your destination — they never touch us, so there is nothing for us to track or sell. The whole code is also built in your browser; the data you type never reaches our servers.
- What's the difference between PNG and SVG?
- PNG is a regular image, perfect for screens and most printing. SVG is a vector format that stays razor-sharp at any size — ideal for large signage, banners, or anything a designer will place into a layout. SVG export is a Pro feature.
- Can I add my logo and brand colors?
- Yes, with Pro. You can set the foreground and background colors and drop a logo into the center. Adding a logo automatically raises the code's error correction so it still scans reliably even with the middle covered.
- How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?
- Pick the "Wi-Fi network" type, enter your network name, security type, and password, and download. Guests scan it to join your Wi-Fi without typing the password — great for cafes, rentals, and offices.
- Can I generate many QR codes at once?
- Yes — Pro's bulk mode takes a list (one entry per line, optionally labeled) and produces a ZIP of every code at once, up to 500 per ZIP. Handy for asset tags, table numbers, product links, or event tickets.
- What size should I download for printing?
- For print, choose 1024px or 2048px PNG, or use SVG for unlimited scaling. As a rule of thumb, keep the printed code at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 inch) and test a scan before mass printing.
